About the founder

• Hansen Metallurgical Services (HMS) founder, Jamie Hansen, is an industrial entrepreneur that has extensive expertise in both the steel and carbon industries. Mr. Hansen also has extensive process expertise in EAF Steel Manufacturing and Business Development.  (my experience allowed me to build a global brand from the vantage point of the customer).

• Jamie Hansen holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, and a bachelor’s degree in Physics from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota.

Created HMS to provide services to EAF Process areas and expertise in the graphite industry. Provides expertise and guidance to steel and steel related companies. Advises businesses on industry trends. Co-Inventor of AMI Automation IoTrode™ and EXO Technologies Super Plug™. 

Mr. Hansen was the co-founder and CEO of SANGRAF International, Incorporated. www.sangrafinternational.com SANGRAF International is a company based in Cleveland, Ohio that manufactures and markets Graphite
Electrodes to EAF Steelmakers around the globe. Mr. Hansen led the startup and global growth of SANGRAF’s graphite electrode products to customers around the globe.

Prior to SANGRAF, Mr. Hansen served as an independent contractor that
provided service and expertise in Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) steel manufacturing based on nearly 20 years of experience in managing EAF based steel manufacturing plants.

In 2010 and 2011, Jamie was the Melting Plant Manager for Charter Steel Cleveland division, an EAF based manufacturer of special bar quality steel for the cold heading and automotive business. Prior to Charter, Jamie was the Works Manager at TAMCO Steel (now Gerdau Long Steel, Rancho), a steel mini-mill in Southern California that recycles scrap steel into concrete reinforcing bar. 

Jamie started his career in the steel industry in 1994 with North Star Steel (now Gerdau Long Steel).
